PRIII is almost finished, alas...

We wanted to launch the new website as a complete surprise, the site was almost a year in the making... But last weekend my computer crashed due to hardware failures, and if that's not bad enough, my external hard disk also died while making a huge backup in an attempt to save what was left on the dying machine. Luckily my partner also made a backup of the site, but it's almost a few months old and it does not include a lot of work files. This means we've lost a lot of development, files and time. Now I first have to buy a new computer, salvage what can be saved and start working again.

We will launch the new PRIII beta as soon as possible!
This might be a bad omen and we will never surrender, even if the heavens fall on our heads!

History of Pagan Roots
Pagan Roots started as a webshop, but quickly evolved into a forum. You're now visiting PRII and it's a huge reference for pagan music, books, movies and games. PRIII grows it's roots even deeper and it features a pagan encyclopedia with magic, myths, pantheon, symbols, flora and fauna.

The community is on hold!

There's not much activity in the community and the old forum was also rather quiet. So we've decided to disable the community for a while, also because we're busy with the development of the new site. The community is currently from a 3rd party and it's very expensive and difficult to integrate with the content of the website. Simply said it just doesn't work, so the community will be gone until it works like we want it to.

Future of the Community?
The new community will be a private gathering to avoid spam and trolls, which means that PR wants a small but active community with dedicated pagans. It will be available for mods, sponsors, merchants, musicians, covens and living history groups. The new community in PRIV will feature User Profiles, Comments, Ratings, Bookmarks, Chat, Groups, Discussions and Events. PRIV will probably be open for beta testing in 2012 or 2013...

New Features of PRIII

We've added a lot of improvements to the new version of the site, below are the most importtant features:

Magical Design
We've revamped the entire site so it feels like an ancient pagan underground with dirty soil, growing roots, rotting wood and fresh green leaves.

Speed and Functionality
The new site loads much faster and features easy to use navigation, everything is connected so be prepared to dig up many secrets.

Easy Navigation
Every menu and layout has been redesigned which makes digging the site much easier.

Facebook integration
PRIII will use Facebook for comments and sharing. It works much better than the old software, so it will be easy to comment on articles.

More Lore
PRIII proudly presents a pagan encyclopedia where you can discover deities, myths, magic, flora, fauna and mystical symbols like runes and tarot.

More Music
Advanced search engine and improved artist pages with updated discographies.

Better Library
We've improved all listings and added more books, movies and games to the database.

Market & Folklore
We're working on an advanced marketplace for pagan merchants who want to promote their arts and crafts. This will be integrated with the new community in the future with support for events, groups and feedback.

Support Pagan Roots

Please tell your friends about the site, click on some ads and buy music, books, movies and games from the sponsored links. All this will help Pagan Roots grow and make it much better.

Pagan Roots is not very popular yet, and it scores low in search engines. Most visitors come from StumbleUpon, so thank you for sharing!

Please consider linking to Pagan Roots or send a small donation with PayPal, thanks :)

Suggestions
Please recommend new books, music and games so they can be added to the database. Also report stuff which is not pagan and should be removed.

Copyright Issues
We've also received a lot of complaints about using images and content without permission. Please remember, Pagan Roots is a non-profit website, all images will be properly credited. We will remove copyrighted material on demand. The site does not host illegal files and respects all copyrighted material.

Important Notice
On this site you will find controversial and sometimes extreme content like the occult and nudity. Pagan Roots will always remain an underground website and we are against Judeo-Christianity and Islam. However we want to remain neutral and we have a "no-politics" and "traditionalist" policy.

Bugs?
There might be some errors on the site, if you find any serious bugs you can report them.
